Many foreigners complain about the above issue. Let me clear the situation.
Most of Japanese woman who register dating apps will not want to upload her photo on the profile.
Why? There are mentality and social situation get involved in this matter.
Suppose if she upload her face photo on the profile at the dating apps. If someone, like a coworker of her company she works for, someone at business clients found out that she registers at the dating apps and may say something like “you register at the dating apps?” It is very very embarrassing for her to be found her registration at the dating apps, or someone may whisper this to other colleagues at work, it is also very embarrassing to her.
